a certain calm
in summer’s passing
flowers
an open invitation
passing butterfly answers
flat seas
with the butterfly’s flight
a certain calm
motion of butterfly’s wings
the breeze that stills the water
the hour silent
before the birds awake
waves on sand
touched by all that surrounds us
lapping waves a reminder

I’ve been lucky to be inside living butterfly collections – They are mesmerizing.
One location in Aruba had two different koi ponds.
A delightful reminder of what may come this spring when the ‘butterfly’ bush awakens.

You are so good at this! I particularly like: “motion of butterfly’s wings
the breeze that stills the water”
Wonderful image, too!

Thank you! I had fun with that shot. I think the finch on the left is flying backwards (taking off from the feeder). That was the third of three shots taken within a second, and the bird was the farthest away from the feeder in that one.
