This is actually a little frightening. The stirring of iced coffee makes me think of deck chairs on the Titanic. Huh. Somebody stirred my brain, too. I wish the drought would break, however. Here too we are too dry. Danger, Will Fireman Robinson, Danger.
Your haiku is a great response, Miriam.
Thank you.
I moved from the northeast to Missouri six years ago. The summers here are much warmer, but I’m told the last ten years have been exceptional. I think every summer I’ve seen has had a drought. We can have 1 1/2 inch of rain in a day and no more for 10 days, which does little for the 9 inch deficit for the month.
Ice coffee is good for any occasion. I’d like to send some of our rainstorms your way…the plants have all perked up again, so we can spare some liquid nourishment right now. (K)

Underneath the soil
Seeds are awaiting deluge
Rain water will save
Ken, I also love the ice cubes as opposed to the searing heat. Believe it or
not, English lawns look the same.

Lovely juxtaposition between ice and drought. Must have an iced coffee soon.

What a beautiful haiku you have created on this theme Ken. I love the choice of your opposite words, a really nicely used juxta.
