One of my “random riffs,” Riding in Comfort to Kingston, is featured at Rusty Truck.
Regarding the poem…
– This actually happened last summer while driving in New York to a poetry reading
– Osage Arts Community’s monthly poetry reading is at Barb’s Books in Belle, Missouri
Many thanks to Editor Scot Young for giving this poem a home.

Congrats, Ken, on the publication. Very cool vignette. I haven’t sent the Rusty Truck anything in a while. Thanks for the prod.

Congratulations on the publication of your poem, Ken. I loved it. It must have been a very surreal experience following that wrecker.

Really like this one, Ken – and I never heard of a “pork soda” before! Congrats!

Thanks, Lynne. 😀
Pork Soda is an album by Primus (which is an acquired taste). One of the tracks is Pork Soda, and if you search the lyrics (pork soda lyrics primus) you’ll find a few references that made it into the poem.
Les Claypool is an extremely versatile bass player.

Wow! Thanks for the clarification. I love it when a poet “secretly” and creatively includes info like that in a poem – you’re very good at that!
