Sweet Damsel
Sweet damsel, light and airy,
as we glide across the water,
may the light of your tiny wings
guide this vessel through
the wonders of your world
and grace us with the beauty
that surrounds you.
This is my response to Day 12 at napowrimo.net,
where we are asked to “write a poem about a small thing.”

I know they’re harmless – like their dragonfly cousins – but they just totally freak me out. Icky. But your fine poem gives them a nice face (facade?) and maybe – if it ever warms up here & I get near water – I won’t wig out so badly. So: Thanks for smoothing things out between us, Ken.

Thanks, Ron..
It was 78º when I was on the water yesterday, but too early in the season for these little critters.

They’re like little fairies. A lovely tribute to damselflies.
