on the wings of a kite

on the wings of a kite

on the wings of a kitethe child within explores
a suppressed reality

hands as fragile as a kite string
reach for the barely perceptible

held close, embraced
identity exceeds expectations

drawn ever closer
the wings of a kite soar

This poem is inspired by A Glittering Piece of the Real Self, a blog from Steve Tanham.
