hungry goldfinch feeds
while stealthy cat stays inside
glad daffodil nods
budding oaks
celebrate new light
equinox
elusive worm moon
hidden behind clouds and trees
unruffled owl hunts
reverence
on quiet Sunday
lily bows
By some stretch of the imagination,
this may be considered on prompt for Day 9 of napowrimo.net,
which challenges us to write a list poem. The haiku are my response to
Frank Tassone’s #Haikai Challenge #182-185: Transformation,
which offers this list of kigo:
• Daffodil
• Equinox
• Worm Moon
• Lily

Nice snapshots in words of a spring day. Each one is such a clear image.

Thank you, Merril. What I appreciate about haiku is the precise nature that can capture a specific yet broad image.

I suppose that’s the idea. I’m not a huge fan, but I can appreciate them when done well (like yours).

Each season has its own list. Wonderful images, I especially like the owl. (K)

Thank you, Kerfe. I “caught” a goldfinch this morning, so I added its photo to the blog. Even with steady rain, the birds couldn’t stay away from the feeder.

What a treat! I saw quite a few robins today. I keep hearing flickers, but they keep to themselves.

At our feeder, we typically see cardinals, tufted titmice, chickadees, finches (house & gold), and sparrows. Also, an occasional woodpecker, but I assume they’re just investigating.

I saw some woodpeckers in Riverside Park a few months ago. That was a treat.

They’re common here, but then this is not an urban setting.

I was lucky enough to see a Goldfinch yesterday!
‘The meaning of the goldfinch signifies abundance and prosperity. It symbolizes the importance of positivity and optimism, and the value of happiness, joy, and simplicity in your life. Just like the crow spirit animal, the goldfinch meaning also points to the need for variety and diversity.’
A lovely list.

😀 I had four at once at my feeder yesterday, but they wouldn’t wait for my camera. This morning, it was crowded with sparrows, with one goldfinch so I got this photo, even if it was raining. (And I added it to the blog.)

I can get some photos… but I always have to enlarge them – I have a picture window that I can get some images from. But you’re right they don’t stay still for long!
I get quite a few Cardinals, wrens, purple finches, etc. But those yellow birdies stick out! Very nice image.

Wonderful. Immensely. I see the juxtaposition that Colleen talks about. Wow. You make it seem so easy. It’s not.
Jeez. I love these. All of them.
Thanks for sharing. Keep going. I wish you miracles. Always.
