Socially Distant ~ quadrille

Socially Distant

No embrace will cure these ills.
A distance prescribed by those who know,
scorned by those who cry for freedom
when the freedom they deliver
for some is from this earthly plane,
is the place to start when the end
is masked in uncertainties.

This is my response to Quadrille 121: Let’s Embrace,
the prompt from Merril at dVerse ~ Poets Pub, which is to use
a form of the word embrace in a 44-word poem, with no required meter or rhyme.

  1. And the morons keep having their maskless parties and then take death home to the innocent, helpless-to-stop-it victims. So much damage was done by the orange stain. Some countries have beaten covid already and look at us floundering.

  2. No embrace…. cry for freedom…. these made my heart sink. It sums up what we are facing, no matter which political side of the spectrum, no matter the mask beliefs. It sums up the entire world right now. It does not matter what one believes or what will come tomorrow. Right now: No embrace, cry for freedom… we all want that. We all mourn for that. Well done, Ken. Well done.
