I agree that it is very vivid. It’s something I don’t think of often here. I was watching a big cargo ship sail out from the Philadelphia shipyard today.

Thank you, Merril. This one was high in the water, so it likely was going to one of the grain mills.

Love this! I grew up in Milwaukee, WI and Lake Michigan was a part of our life! We’re moving to Michigan next month. Another new adventure on the other side of the big lake. ❤

Thank you, Colleen.
Michigan is a great state. As a child my family visited my aunt & uncle every summer (Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor & Whitmore Lake). For several years in the 90s I went on dive charters on Lake Huron. And my wife and I visited the Straits, Lake Huron, and Lake Michigan three years ago.

I spent my young years around Lake Erie, and it brings back memories. I’m glad there is still some shipping going on. (K)

From downtown Buffalo, sometimes you can smell the Cheerios from the General Mills plant.

Nature is a powerful element, we can go so far and then …. ice. You tell it with feeling.
