The Butterfly and the Branch
A branch sways
A butterfly changes course,
its wings the wind
A branch reflects on its situation,
draws a butterfly
A butterfly succumbs to obscurity
A branch sways in the wind
This poem is my response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #154,
which offers the image for inspiration.

This is one of your best, rivrvlogr!
I saw a metaphor in the butterfly. It is excellent without the butterfly too.

Thank you, Reena. 🙂
And thank you for the prompt.

There’s a lot to reflect upon here. Sort of a Zen-like chaos theory.

Thank you, Merril. I tried to imagine what would have led to the scene, and the butterfly effect came to mind.

The reflection and the repetition move beautifully between the image and the words. (K)

Thank you, Kerfe. Once I gave in to the repetition, I realized it aids in the progression.

Oh… this reminds me of the giant silk caterpillar I’d been watching for days… only for it to disappear…
I suppose the take-away here is knowing that maybe next year there might be others…
