wandering spirits
held in thought
never captured
call to me
always out of reach
This gogyohka, inspired by water music by Kerfe Roig, is my response to
Colleen’s 2020 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday
#Poetry Challenge No. 187 #PhotoPrompt,
with the photo provided by Sally Cronin.
I can imagine all sorts of backstories to go with your poem. 😀 It could almost be the opening sentence of a story.

Thank you, Kerfe. And for the inspiration, as well.

This gogyohka immediately made me think of the sirens’ songs calling the sailors to their doom beneath the waves. What I really love is that you got double inspiration from the photo and from Kerfe’s poem, as well. Excellent!
