dry grass turns
seeks gift from above

I feel sometimes like that dry grass myself.

Understood. Whether suffering from radical weather shifts, or the chaos of our times, we all could use some relief.

Ah, this is a sigh of relief. The whole world could do with some soothing rain right now.

Love this haiku. The grass almost turning itself in the breeze perhaps, to soak up that longed for gift of rain. Lovely haiku!

Thank you, Lillian. This year, we’re experiencing frequent rain and high water on the Missouri River. The weather in the few years I’ve lived has been so unpredictable. It’s either drought or flood.

Another plume graces the wind. You touch the sun and water. Your friends right you here. Good job if you can get it, and it looks like you do got it. 🙂 Insert my smiling face hear. They are screaming on TV as I write. Yes, drought and flood. Some say fire, some ice.

We’ve had a wet spring, but, these days, that can turn in an instant.

Yes, both the earth and us need nourishing rain just now.
I do love the sun but hunger for summer rain.

August…but then things are all turned around these days. That used to be August, anyway. (K)

Yes. We’re wet now, but summer heat & drought have killed my lawn three of the last six summers.

By the end of July we will probably be wishing for rain again like your Haiku says. This sure has been a wet spring for us here in the Carolinas.

Thank you, Ali. I may prefer a sunny day, but I do enjoy a rainy one, now and then. Lately, that seems to be every other day – just a little too often!
