A Day Like Any Other
With like minds, we scorn this greeting card holiday,
yet my mind still turns to you, a turn made
nearly every moment since that first turn
on the path that brought our hearts together,
since the first words I wrote for you, words
I would write on any day, even this.
My un-Valentine’s Day poem.
And more words of LOVE.
Ah … , River, this is so beautiful. It speaks of love held deeply and true.

Delightful poem!
Valentine’s Day lost its significance somewhere after grade-school … popular now (at least here in Austin) as chocolate-covered strawberry extravaganza.

Thank you so much for featuring my poem. You make a very fluid presentation, tying everything together superbly, and you’ve certainly placed me in good company (including yours).

Thank you! I’m new at podcasting and feel pretty exposed and vulnerable. Your poem fit the theme very well. I hope I can include more in the future.

Go Dog Go Cafe liked the podcast on Cupid. I think you will get more exposure. Here is what the managing editor wrote to me. Barbara, first…thank you for taking the time to put together such a thoughtful, thorough, and informative podcast. I was expecting something quick with a few poems. What I discovered was a very informative reflection on poetry, love and how art informs an essential emotion of our humanity. I am very excited about this.
On Sunday I will be doing my weekly “chat” here at Go Dog Go and want to feature your podcast in my discussion. As I continue to work with the baristas here at the cafe I really want to highlight some of the great work people are doing to promote poetry and creative writing in general. Your work seems like a perfect place to begin.
