Call to Order
Neither here nor there,
this place we find ourselves.
All direction lost,
we wander within boundaries
imposed, yet never observed,
the chaos of partisan politics
the true indicator
of our own limitations.
This is my response to Reena’s Exploration Challenge #118.

OUCH! but so true – boundaries have become figures of speech – very little said can be trusted.
(This poem a notable exception.)

Thank you.
What we have is two sides unwilling to compromise, or even acknowledge the merits presented, with nothing more than sound bites underscoring their obstinacy .
Not to mention a president who has no sense of decorum.

Somehow, even I thought of politics while seeing this picture.

With politics front page these days, it seemed natural.

Part of the problem is that we are trapped by something we remain in denial about. Your poem is insightful in calling attention to it.
