Knowing the Truth
Serious, our many differences.
Do we agree to let matters lie,
knowing the truth will bring more pain,
or do we face the challenge
facing us with a strength
that will see us through,
understanding
each other,
as we
must?
This inverted etheree is my response to Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 151 #SynonymsOnly, which offers dig and grave as prompt words.
I have used “know” and “serious” as synonyms.

I think if we live on a lie the buildings will topple, sooner or later… bring on the truths

Most of us spend a lifetime balancing candor and the conundrum of affection. Truth can sting like a bitch…yet, I support truth over white lies and alternate facts.

Too many uneasy truces these days…and yet…can we live with the possibility of an unbridgeable gap? I grapple with this question all the time. (K)
