I haven’t posted any poetry here for a couple of weeks. I drove back to Buffalo for the first week, and we’ll be returning there in September for my daughter’s wedding. I enjoyed the time spent with all of my children, but the main purpose of the trip was to take a couple of refresher dance lessons with my daughter. I now feel confident that I’ll have just two left feet for our father-daughter dance.
The week was pretty much poetry-free, with the exception of one poem written before I came home. I think this is the longest I’ve gone without writing a poem in the past four years. If I post that poem, it will be later, since it’s pretty event specific and may evolve over the next six weeks.
In the week since I returned, I’ve been working on a personal project that’s very important to me and needs my full attention. Based on something I wrote twenty years ago, it’s primarily prose, and it’s about time I got around to working on it. It should be done later this week, with just 5% of the work remaining – mainly photo editing – but I’ll wait until the end of August to discuss it.
Meanwhile, I haven’t been doing much reading, and I’m reminded how much I rely on outside sources for inspiration. I have a lot of catching up to do at WordPress, but I should be back to writing soon.

Thanks, Jazz. It’s something I need to keep under wraps, just for a short while.

I wondered where the heck you were. So glad you’ve been busy with family memory-making. Your “project” sounds intriguing especially if it’s been shaping itself for quite awhile. Looking forward to seeing your writing again.

I’ve been wondering where you were. It sounds like all is well though with some exciting things going on–as well as some wonderful time with your daughter. I’m interested to hear more about your project.
It’s difficult to keep up with everything. I’m behind on reading and responding to challenges, too, because of other projects and family issues.

Thank you, Merril. With just a couple of loose ends on this project, I should be back, shortly. I’ll be able to show some of it in a few weeks.
