The prompt for Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #84 Quest for a New Masterpiece … Movement (Undou) asks us to create a new haiku using movement (or undou), inspired by Bashō’s “frog pond” haiku (tr. Jane Reichhold, below in blue).
old pond
a frog jumps into
the sound of water
Bashō
willow on stream bank
long leaves trailing on water
knows little of thirst

The willow is quite possibly my favorite of all trees. I do love the image of the branches trailing in the water that your words paint.

Especially liked the 2nd part. I can see it making its own trail even through rough waters. Janice was right..inspirational.

I love willows and their movement! The curly willow in our garden is a constant joy.

Thank you. Yes, the leaves can have such a slow, seductive motion.

Ken, this is really so lovely. I love willows, I think they are the ballerinas of the tree world. They are so graceful when the wind stirs.
