You Know I’m Right
Look it up, and see
if you don’t agree. We may
see what we want to see,
but there’s no denying
the truth is there. Where
would we be if facts were
lies, lies were facts,
and the President lived
in the Black House?
This is my response to Quadrille #79: Up with Poems, People,
the prompt from De Jackson at dVerse, which is to use the word up in a quadrille,
a 44-word poem that does not require meter or rhyme.

What an intriguing take on the prompt! Love it!

I needed something to laugh about, and the news these days provided it.
Thank you.

I think he wouldn’t mind as long as he could have gold curtains.

What if the white house were the ORANGE House! At least they would match. 🙂

Nicely done! Love this piece… I think if it actually ended up this way. Millania would finally leave. LOL!

I’d like to see your president in the dog house. With a chain round his neck

As long as his coffin in the basement is left undisturbed, he’s ok with it. Where’s a truckload of garlic when you need one?

The perspective of “that house” being pure, as in white, has been smudged near-black already … the elbow grease (and detox solutions) needed to cleanse thick grimy residue defy probabilities. Still, one can hope to collectively tackle the chore once the Contaminator vacates the premises.

I’m afraid a lot of news today reports lies as facts and we believe them!

That may be true. And then there’s everything that comes out of Trump’s mouth. The man has defined a new standard for truth that hopefully is erased when he is out of office.

Well this is a twist in the political drama. We will live in an alternate world of unreality.

Clever wording, very subtle but gets the point across. Looks like the house needs to be repainted ……..

A through-the-looking-glass write, that mirrors more and more the absurdity happening on the US national stage. Well done!

And, sorry(?) That’s always been a favorite Stones song, for me.

I’ve been playing their greatest hits a lot lately (good for dancing while cleaning). Before that one got stuck, for some reason I was doing the Harlem Shuffle…

You’ve taken the phrase “Look it up” somewhere important – but with a light touch. Nicely done!

Love the way you used ‘up’. I see a black house with orange curtains, sort of a Halloween house. Love this, Ken!

The white house has a gray pall around it these days…. Methinks it is already turning black.
