climbing sacred path
the sound of water falling
hidden in the steps
Carpe Diem #1622 – Kumano Kodo Waterfall provides a photo of Daimonzaka (stone steps leading to the waterfall at Nachi Taicha, a pilgrimage site), to be used for inspiration.

Intriguing to consider sound “hidden in steps” … the stone steps, the human steps on those stones … reason to pause and just listen.

You have me taking that one step further, to the thoughts of those taking those steps.
Thank you.

You haiku reminded me of the 7 (really a few more I think) in a little Wisconsin town. I had read about them somewhere… so I tried to find them all (actually I did and climbed them all too). One was log steps up a hill and at the time I went, early morning – I spotted deer. 🙂

Very inspired haiku. I like the opposite words : climbing and falling. The make a strong image.

Thank you. Saying more with fewer words is a challenge, and a comment like this makes it worth while.
