    • I’m not sure about that.
According to Wiki, in Japanese mythology, regarding the three-legged crow, the appearance of the great bird is construed as evidence of the will of Heaven or divine intervention in human affairs.

  1. Might just be my mood today … but this strikes me as playful … in my imagination crows become a pair of ravens frolicking in snow flurries … riding the currents, effortless play … and why not?
    Thanks! I enjoyed that.

  2. I love your haiku. On summer mornings the crows hold a committee meeting in the trees in our woods. After much chatter, they all take flight to carry out the chores of the day. I love hearing their chatter.

  3. Love crows! Always happy when they show up. Shadows on gray sky- is an interesting idea, To me it says that there are always nuances and new(s) no matter how monochromatic something may appear at first glance. Also shadows imply a source of light and the crows’ raucous curiosity offers a brave antidote to gloom. Fo me, a haiku is meant to make one stop, pause to look closely at a working of nature and ponder the metaphor it may hold for something in one’s own life. This one works for me

  4. Crows are very smart. I think they just get a bad rap because they are ‘black’ but in some cultures, black …oh here: “… Black corresponds to water and is considered to be a neutral color in Chinese culture and is the color of heaven, symbolizing the northern and western sky. This color represents immortality, knowledge, stability and power. Because of this, government cars are all black.
    And…
Because of its affinity with life mysteries and magic, the crow is seen in many shamanic traditions as the spirit animal of choice for those who use magic and have the power to manipulate the law of our physical universe. The crow used to be the animal of choice of shamans, those who do witchcraft and shape-shifting.
I’m sure there are many other facts or fiction good and bad about the crow.
