For some reason this reminded me of Joseph Conrad’s book Nostromo. I did my senior college thesis on the works of this author (-and 35 years later turned it into yes a print book, can’t help myself ). This poem vividly brought up the atmosphere of the book to me. Nostromo, I meant!

That’s exactly the lesson from Nostromo. The silver did not profit the ones who were most involved with it.
