I have at least two variety of these gems, dragon and damsel flies by my creek. 🙂
One seems to have a green glowing body. Ebony Jewelwing, Great blue skimmer, and a few others. 🙂

I often have damselflies clinging to the edge of my kayak. I feel lucky when I can spot a dragonfly that’s stationary long enough to capture in a photo. I suspect that the one in my photo above might have been permanently stationary. There appears to be a spiderweb strand going to the tip of its wing – something I didn’t see until reviewing the photo. (I actually edited the wings and body to enhance the graphics and make the insect stand out even more.)
