All the Difference
Two paths, not one,
yours and mine.
Though joining,
there is a distance
encompassing us,
our time together.
One path, two
components determined
to reach the end
together. But one
will end first,
our light extinguished,
leaving the other
to continue,
alone.
This is my response to Thursday Photo Prompt: Caught #writephoto,
from Sue Vincent at Daily Echo, with her photo.
Touching poem!

I love that image, Ken. It is that distance that makes the joining of lives so precious.

Room for two, whatever direction they take.

The story of love–two paths that join but that cannot stay together forever.

Yes, (almost) always leaving one to continue alone.
I was stuck for a title, then thought to look to Frost for inspiration, seeing this as a possible reverse (or inverse, diverse, alternate uni-verse) of The Road Not Taken.

A very nice piece of work on a subject that many of us find difficult to get our heads around.

Yet we take that path.

Love’s journey – yes, taken without thought towards that outcome, as no shadow is welcome in such light.
