infatuation
consolation through a lens
forbidden desire
This senryū is in response to Haiku Review Challenge – Carol by The Secret Keeper. The short film offered for review is Carol: The Voyeuristic Camera by Jacob T. Swinney, found on Vimeo. It conveys the sense of longing that is a product of forbidden love with scenes from the film Carol (official trailer here).

Fascinating to consider your lines with regard to my personal photographic indulgences – macro lens to take me into tiny spaces “forbidden” to occupation by the likes of a human. “Infatuation consolation” is a potent pairing of words!

Hey, remember the guy, the oracle, who used to do the saturday prompt magnet poetry? Does he still do that?

That was “Elusive Trope,” and no, he doesn’t. He went away for a short while. He had password issues when he came back, so he opened a new page, “along the interstice,” but he didn’t resume the challenge. He hasn’t been active lately.
