    • When I moved from Western New York – which often has a frost as late as May 30th – to mid-Missouri – which has up and down temps, anywhere from 35°F to 80°F from March on – I had to adjust. As it happens, spring here has been delayed by 4 weeks this year. The same up and down temps, but far more cool days. Oak trees that should be nearly full are just getting their leaves. Unfortunately, it looks like my neighbor’s oak has decided this will be a heavy pollen spring. I moved here to find out that I’m allergic to oak pollen!

    • Our spring is just catching up. The previous owner of my home left behind gardens that most likely were placed by the first owner. They were terribly overgrown. The largest has irises, lilies and wildflowers. Right now, the stars are columbine and violets, and there are a couple of iris buds waiting to open.
