bamboo longs for heights

bamboo longs for heights
to bend the wind to its will
looking to the clouds
~~~
one note of the shakuhachi
resounds endlessly
piercing the winter clouds
                    Sōen Nakagawa
~~~~~~~
mountaintop vista
snow falling through a rainbow
fades with setting sun

~~~
disappearing
snow on mountain peak
unfurls a Rainbow
                    Sōen Nakagawa
My haiku are inspired by the two haiku by Sōen Nakagawa, provided in the prompt at Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #30 Revise That Haiku.
I have taken it one step further by writing a fusion haiku
inspired by the two prompt haiku:
rainbow of music
shaukuhachi’s plaintive tune
mountain peak shines
  1. Brilliant. Sadly, though I own (and occasionally attempt) a few shaukuhachi, I could never really master any transverse flute; so I stick to my sax, my hand percussions, and my (favorite) native flutes. I love the shaukuhachi’s sound though.
    I’ve enjoyed your April; have added you to my “Follow” list.
