water smooth as silk

water smooth as silk

water smooth as silk
reflecting silk tree’s flower
sharing its essence
~~~
weary from travel
rabbit ear iris welcome
deep like star lit sky
These two “fusion” haiku are late for the challenge, but they are in response to
Carpe Diem’s Crossroads #3 Rabbit Ear Iris,
inspired by the words in the following two haiku by Matsuo Bashō
(translated by Jane Reichhold)
rabbit-ear iris
how much it looks like
its image in water
~~~
a silk tree
even through the leaves weary
of starlight
