Indecision

If I took your lead,
there would be no question
of intent, no hesitation,
regardless of outcome.

Why would you take my lead,
when there are no guarantees
emblazoned with my name,
your name, ours?

I need more time to consider
your counsel, weigh your words,
but you tell me it’s now
or never.

Why do I listen to myself?
