On Passing
The light does not go out.
It does not dim.
It passes, from one
to the next. Sometimes
divided, it is held
and shared so that others
may know, remember
what is held dear.
Thinking of losses, my own and those of friends, and how we carry a spirit, so that it is not truly lost.
“We are not gone… we are here to stay!”

Hopefully we will pass on the good rather than the bad parts of us!

Thoughtful, as always, and a pleasure to awaken my brain in this morning cup of tea. 🙂

Nothing is lost. Passing is a state of change.

This is a comforting way of thinking–that the light is passed and shared.

That is a very neat way of looking at how we treat each other, especially as we get old enough to contemplate the last chapter of our lives.
