maintaining – Shadorma

Hard to Gauge

this futile attempt
to keep pace
with the times
is exhausting and leaves me
running on empty

Using a photo from my WP Media Library, this is my twenty-first shadorma for Eliot Dybden’s Shadorma November (ShaNov) at Along the Interstice. A shadorma has six lines with no rhyme or meter, except for a syllable structure of 3/5/3/3/7/5.

  1. Oddly enough this was composed on 11th:

A world that will not slow
To match me step by step
    Is not worth living in
    And so I shall recline

(And no, that isn’t a typo in the last word. 😉 )
