Reflection
On the bank of a stream, I speak to the water and the image it holds, express my respect for the beauty before me. I watch as it shifts with a light touch of my hand, while the trees overhead stand still, just as my emotions respond to events that mean little to others. I see myself observing, see that same shift in my own image, and know that I cannot separate myself from the effects my actions have upon nature.
trees stand motionless
ripples pass across a stream
dancing tree branches
leaves floating on farthest bank
bob on the waves as they sink
perfect, Ken.

I love this, the intertwining of leaves and trees and water and reflections, the real and the real in another way. It is beautiful and also really fits this time of year when things are in such transition.

I love trees reflected in the water. I’m always drawn to those images. Your reflection on reflection is perfect. Beautiful, Ken.

Thank you, Merril.
I kayak every month, often on the same streams, and I find myself taking what could be considered the same photos over and over, but the lighting is different each time, and the images on the water reflect that. (See what I did there?)
