cadence does not march here,
flows instead,
nuance in its delivery
drawing a bridge between
the hidden
and what is known
life
encompassed by the world
and its subtleties
Hear Robert Okaji read his poetry, and understand. Not yet tagged or categorized as a recording, but just as exemplary, is “The Resonance of No,” from his forthcoming chapbook, From Every Moment a Second, available for pre-publication order at Finishing Line Press.
Thanks for the plug, Ken. And for inspiring me.

You’re welcome, Bob. It’s clear that you’re comfortable with your words. It comes through in your readings.

It helps that by the time a poem is completed (or abandoned), I’ve read each line aloud many, many times, as I recite while writing. Which means that I don’t write in public much. 🙂

Ken, your generosity here IS inspiring! I love the way our community has been rallying around Bob with the impending release of his book — of his work by which we’ve been moved and energized, and from which we’ve all learned so much. I’m feeling immensely thankful to be a part of such a special network of artists. 💝
