Ambiguity in Perspective
Within the freedom of flight
lie limits. Mobility,
a matter of perspective.
Ask the crow eyeing
traffic, crossing to feed
on a busy highway.
Or the wren, eyes blank,
neck bent as it lies
on the doormat, proud
cat never once looking
to the sky. Freedom, seldom
served, more often taken.

Without the cosciousness of limitations, we could not know when we soar…but you are right in that freedom within them is a luxury seldom served.

Not taking for granted what we have is a start toward maintaining a reasonable perspective.

I don’t think I have ever been able to take anything for granted, Ken.

You do well in capturing some of that beauty, and ambiguity.

I love this. Small everyday events add up but are often overlooked or underestimated.

Very nicely done. I, too, have been contemplating birds these days, and what there is to learn from them. Lots, I think. 🙂

Thank you. I think it comes down to understanding the limitations we face that allows us to make the most of the narrow paths we follow.

Mobility offers advantages even to the cat. The immobile trees would offer a different perspective on distance.

…and wonder at the foolish antics of those who would dash about, while experiencing both the security of the land and the freedom of the sky.
