The rising sun is always a fanfare. Cool effect with the camera. It makes me think of the popular Day Glo posters of the past.

The camera sensor was, indeed. erratic – no telling when it would happen. It’s a great camera, but I finally broke down and bought a digital SLR, two months later (in 2011). After 6 weeks, the SLR was stolen from the same location that the sunrise was shot (a stupid mistake that would have been more palatable with the damaged camera), so I bought a refurbished version of that previous camera directly from Canon, until I could justify the expense of a new SLR & lenses. It still serves as a backup (for kayaking, etc.) to the SLR.
