Come to me, my late life.
You have stood there
on the horizon,
beckoning me to
last that long,
while life itself has thrown
obstacles in my path.
But I have persevered.
I have arrived at that horizon,
and I will not be intimidated.
I will not be a husk,
a hollow shell,
collapsing upon myself
while all that surrounds me
overwhelms my senses,
my being.
You are not my late life.
You are my life, and
you will be complete.
This is my response to Sue Vincent’s (Daily Echo) Thursday Photo Prompt – broken – #writephoto, with her photo.
I love the sense of determination and hope contained in your thoughts….very positive and beautifully written.

I could see this structure being reused, giving it new life, so I took it from there. (Yes, applying it to life.)
