Dreamlight
Dark and long, this passage seems
When they visit in my dreams
Those I’ve loved, now lost to me
Troubles gone, their souls set free
Bathed in light as they appear
Dark succumbs when they draw near
Peace resides within their light
Solace reigns in their long night
When I wake, dark far behind
Knowing fates are intertwined
Those once lost not far apart
That refound light fills my heart
This is my response to Sue Vincent’s Thursday Photo prompt – Liminal – #writephoto, with her photo. I nearly gave up on this and reverted to free form, until Bonnie helped me recover the meter in the first verse.
Beautiful, Ken. Thank you. It reads aloud very well.

Wonderful, Ken. I love the rhythm and flow here–like something a bard might proclaim. (Or something that would be set to music and sung.)

Thank you! All it needs is a refrain.

Yes, very musical. Even though this is not a round image, it seems very circular to me, and your words reflect that. (K)
