Lessons Gained By Transition
Deliver me from this bondage,
this cage that wears the name of
freedom
by naming my rights
without delivering them.
For, what are rights that are
not defined, instead given
broad terms,
vague,
as if universal,
giving others the right to
deny my rights?
Scorned
while walking among you,
my freedom serves as
a cage.
Day Thirteen of 2016 NaPoWriMo.
Conceding to the rights of the members of the LGBTQ community to live as they wish, while asserting that their rights infringe on one’s own, is not the same as granting them the rights and freedoms they deserve.

Wonderful–both what you are expressing and how you express it.
