River’s Hold

River's Hold

Come, succumb to the mighty river
Stare into its rushing waters
As your senses wear away
Closer now, step closer
To these mighty falls
And envision
Your true self
In their
Hold

The Secret Keeper’s Weekly Word prompt #23 provides the words stare, river, hold, true and wear.  My response is a nonet.
Nonet ~ a poem of nine lines and a syllable pattern of 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, with rhyme optional

  1. Excellently done Nonet.. You used the words flawlessly. Creating the power and lure of the falls. It is hypnotizing and for some to strong to resist its pull. You conjure up its overwhelming awe with your words. Very intense, yet subtle in its design. – jk
