Come, succumb to the mighty river
Stare into its rushing waters
As your senses wear away
Closer now, step closer
To these mighty falls
And envision
Your true self
In their
Hold
The Secret Keeper’s Weekly Word prompt #23 provides the words stare, river, hold, true and wear. My response is a nonet.
Nonet ~ a poem of nine lines and a syllable pattern of 9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1, with rhyme optional

Thousands of people have attempted suicide at Niagara Falls, with just a handful of survivors.
Oh, I like this. I like it a lot.

Certainly is a picture of power. To me it speaks of submission, particularly my submission to the will of my Lord, and by faith I believe I will also receive protection for such power.

Excellently done Nonet.. You used the words flawlessly. Creating the power and lure of the falls. It is hypnotizing and for some to strong to resist its pull. You conjure up its overwhelming awe with your words. Very intense, yet subtle in its design. – jk
