white light of hope gone
swallowed by black shroud of loss
unwelcome season
gently falling white
eases the black night of grief
winter mantle’s calm
I’ve seen Jane Dougherty respond to Ronovan’s Haiku Challenge often enough (and superbly, I might add) that I’ve finally decided to give it a try myself. The two words for RonovanWrites Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge #73 are black and white.
They are beautiful haiku. Delicate and poignant.

Both haiku are lovely. The second on is my favorite. 🙂
